GUAC

It seems incredibly unfair to feature salsa without its amigo guacamole, so here you go! As with the salsa, making your own gives you the control to tweak the flavour – I usually bump up the lime juice in mine and enjoy a bit of heat from the chili. The recipe below opts for more subtle flavours and is a definite crowd-pleaser, but if you’re feeling adventurous, play around with the ingredients and figure out what you like!
What you’ll need
2 avocadoes
1/2 red or white onion
3 cloves of garlic
1/2 chili pepper (or more if you prefer)
1 lime
1/4 tsp salt
What to do
To begin, slice your avocado in half, remove the stone and scoop out the flesh into a bowl. Slice up the onion, garlic and chili pepper, add these to the bowl, then squeeze in the lime juice and add the salt. Using a potato masher, mash all of the ingredients until you have a relatively smooth paste, and serve. As mentioned earlier, play around with the lime juice, salt and chili until the flavour is just right.
Enjoy!
